Royal Chambers Project Newport- Complete office refurbishment and outfit.
Newport City Council required the complete internal refurbishment of the third floor of Royal Chambers a listed property.
The project included asbestos removal, repairs and redecoration to all windows (because of listed building status these works had specific implications), strip out of furniture, finishes and stud partitioning and glazed screens / joinery, extending and refitting the WC’s and kitchen. In addition, new floors, walls & ceiling finishes were required throughout including new fixtures & fittings.
Mechanical and electrical works included retaining existing radiator heating system and adapting to suit the new layout as necessary including new electrical installation throughout which included, lighting, small power, data containment & cabling, fire detection, intruder alarm and access control. Mechanical cooling to rooms were also required to the IT server room as well as the procurement & installation of IT server equipment and installation.
Conservation officer approval was required for the works and Albion Workplace Solutions had contractual responsibility for the approval process, whilst continuing to meet the project cost, time and quality criteria.
Following successful completion of the project by Albion Workplace Solutions the building has been occupied by Coleg Gwent.
